If you will be staying around Hollywood for the New Year, be sure to check out these events! As the end of 2013 approaches, people are excitedly making their plans for New Year’s Eve celebrations. One of the best places to be in Los Angeles is Grand Park, at 200 North Grand Avenue, for the big party held there. Friends, family, neighbors and communities come together in recognizing the end of one year and the start of the next with a whole host of entertainment and seasonal fun, starting at 6pm and running right through into 2014.
This free of charge public event is suitable for all ages. Numerous performances, art installations, animations and food and drink will fill the park to make everyone able to enjoy a night to remember. Twenty-two stories of City Hall will be covered in 3-D projection and of course the all-important countdown to midnight will also be visible to all on the side of that iconic building. An interactive live photo booth area will also be projecting people’s wishes for their New Year and new start onto screens more than one hundred feet above Grand Park, making the community’s dreams part of the landscape for the night. More importantly for some, there will be a live feed projection of the famous ball drop in Times Square at 9pm when the East Coast will reach midnight – ideal for those celebrating with children who don’t want to stay out too late.
Art installations by Charles Baker, Mike Murphy and Geoff McFetridge populate the park, and for music there are numerous performances by some of the biggest acts in the local scene. Dublab’s Finest, DJ Seano and Deadelus, the Versa – Style Dance Company, Buyepongo, Fool’s Gold plus Myron & E will all perform live on stage during the night. More than a dozen food trucks of all styles and cuisines, from Tacos to Cookies, will be placed throughout the park to offer everything required for a great night out.
