Halloween weekend is here!!! And while we laid out some of the major Halloween hotspots around town, we would like to list out some of the other events going on this weekend.
LACMA Muse Costume Ball: October 30 – LACMA Museum, DowntownCome out to LACMA and enjoy an eventful night as there will be live music, open bar, video projections, art exhibits and a special preview of William Eggleston’s Democratic Camera exhibit. If you are consider yourself to be a fan of the arts and are looking to dress up but remain low key about it this would be a great spot for you.
Dia de Los Muertos: October 30 – Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Hollywood
For those of you who want to celebrate the Hispanic traditions holiday of Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) come out to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for the 11th annual event. The celebration will feature the vibrant traditions procession along with the traditional Aztec blessings, as well as regional music, fine Mexican cuisine and a variety of other festivities set to take place.
Thriller Night: October 30 – Wockano Santa Monica, Santa Monica
Wockano in Santa Monica will play host for the second year in a row, to the official “Thriller” tribute party. The event will feature the live sounds by DJ Casey Connor, amazing drink specials, laser light shows, a Michael Jackson costume contest, dance-offs, and yes there will be a choreographed Thriller routine or two throughout the night.
KCRW Masquerade Costume Ball: October 30 – The Legandary Park Plaza, Downtown
5 uniqely themed rooms all equipped with dance floors and stages, 14 DJ’s throughout the night, a Vaudevillle act, drink specials, dinner provided by artisan food trucks… The people over at KCRW sure know how to throw a party. The festivities will take place at the Legendary Park Plaza and the radio station has made sure to provide attendees with more than enough resources to get fully into the holiday spirit.
Halloween at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel: October 30 – Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood
Halloween has taken over the historic hotel as the entire property has fully emersed itself into the Halloween spirit. The popular hotel will have live performances by Rad Omen and The EC Twins, plus plenty of DJ’s and dance floors to keep you dancing all night long.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: October 31 – Walt Disney Concert Hall, Downtown
For those of you truly looking for a quiet night, the Walt Disney Concert Hall will be screening the 1920 silent horror classic, accompanied by a live Hall Pipe Organ throughout the film. This is a great event for you film buffs out there who again are looking for a low key Halloween night.
