Are you looking for a way to shake up your fitness routine? Take the Red and Gold Line Metro over to Chinatown for the 2012 LA Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run for a weekend of fitness and fun! The weekend will include the 5/10K Run, Bike Ride, Night & Day Festival , Kiddie Run and Health & Fitness Festival.
The 5K run/walk is a loop heading through Dodger Stadium. The run begins on North Broadway St. for 1/3 of a mile, then turns left onto Bishops Road. After that, it turns right at Stadium Way over the 110 freeway toward Dodger Stadium for a 1 mile uphill climb. The run will turn right at Lookout Drive and onto Lilac Terrace which leads onto Stadium Way. A U-turn past Elysian Park Ave. will bring the run back to Stadium Way, then Bishops Rd and then onto North Broadway again. This run includes one water station.
The 10K run is a challenging route through the hills of Elysian Park from North Broadway. It includes 180 degree views of the city. No cars will be permitted on the route. The Bike Ride has two courses—20 mile easy course and 30 mile challenging ride. Both routes will run through the LA River Bike Path. More information and maps can be found here.
