Nearby Grauman’s Chinese Theatre frequently runs some unique specials and now the theatre is back with yet another great series that is perfect for the whole family. To celebrate the theatre’s 85th birthday, it recently announced “25 Cent Family Flicks” which will run Saturday mornings until August 25th. And as the title says, in true, 1920s era style, the movies will only cost you a quarter! Films will be kid-friendly and will start at 10am. The lineup for the rest of the series is as follows:
7/21 Puss in Boots
7/28 Kung Fu Panda
8/4 How to Train Your Dragon
8/18 Monsters vs. Aliens
8/25 The Spongebob SquarePants Movie
The theatre has done more than enough to make your family feel welcome for its family events. Something most theatres don’t offer that the Chinese 6 will have is healthy snacks for kids! There will be yogurt, granola bars, mini cereal boxes, fruit, and more. Lights will be left on in the theatre so parents can watch their children and there will also be booster seats available. The theatre validates parking so your parking fee at Hollywood & Highland will be a mere $2. A pretty affordable Saturday morning!
After the movies, enjoy the sights of the area. The Chinese Theatre is one of the most photographed tourist sites in the world and it houses a famous handprint and footprint tribute that features some of Hollywood’s biggest talents. You can also walk around Hollywood & Highland, which features a vast array of stores, dining, and other entertainment. Don’t forget the famous Walk of Fame lines Hollywood Boulevard for miles.
If you are looking for hotels in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hotel provides an affordable and convenient home away from home. The property is just a quick metro ride away from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and many other Hollywood attractions, so it can be easy for you to hop on over to the 25 Cent Family Flicks Saturday mornings.
