Chart topping artists, Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars will be coming to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert on May 31st at 7:30 p.m. and June 1st at 7 p.m. – an event that music lovers will definitely not want to miss! Music fans of Bruno Mars and Pharrell Williams planning to stay in hotels near the Hollywood bowl do not want to miss this heart pounding event!
Although Pharrell Williams has recently exploded on the Pop charts, he has been around the music industry for quite some time now, leaving his mark. During the early and mid-90s, Pharrell was producing songs and even helped with song writing for varied artists in different genres. Soon after as his name began to be recognized, he started singing and providing the chorus or backup vocals instead of just providing the lyrics. He went on to produce his first solo work in 2006, which reached #3 on the billboard 200 chart. From there, his repertoire began to increase as he collaborated with more and more artists. In recent years, he’s especially known for co-writing and singing Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and most recently for his song, “Happy”. Williams won the award for Producer of the Year at the past Grammy Awards.
Bruno Mars, a native of Hawaii, has been known for years as one of the pop world’s best songwriters. He even wrote K’Naan’s “Waving Flag”, which was the theme song for the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympics. Mars debuted with his own music soon after with his hit single, “Nothin’ on You” in 2010. From there, he has been releasing chart toppers one after another. Mars also says he was never professionally trained in the arts but grew up with having a piano, drum set, and other instruments around his home. “That’s just how I learned,” he said in an interview with bio., “just being surrounded by it my whole life.” Last year he was named Billboards Artist of the Year.
Aside from the music, the Hollywood Bowl is a site to be seen on its own. It has been ranked the Best Major Outdoor Venue according to Pollstar magazine, and also boasts the title of “largest natural outdoor amphitheater in the United States”! Guests are allowed to bring along their own picnic to enjoy the show.
