6:45pm: In Grand Park’s Community Terrace between Hill Street and North Broadway, you can witness a moment in LA history when the park is officially open.
7:45pm: Return to Grand Park’s Event Lawn to see Vertical dance company Bandaloop perform the LA premiere of “Bound(less)” while suspended from climbing ropes attached to the City hall building. Live music by Dana Leong Trio will play during the performance.
The new Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles houses majestic views extending from the Music Center to City Hall. The park will be a place where residents and visitors of Los Angeles can come together to celebrate, reflect and shape the future. The new park currently has a new membrane pool available for wading and a restored historic fountain. It will also be connected to Grand Avenue via a series of stairs, ramps and sloped walks and an elevator to invite all pedestrians in. There is also a Starbucks within the garden next to the wading pool. Be sure to stop by Grand Park to catch the celebration this weekend!
