Celebrate the Arts at Grand Performances in Downtown Los Angeles!

Summer is a great time to visit Los Angeles as there is good weather and many events in the arts and music to attend outdoors. One such event in downtown Los Angeles, just a Red Line Metro ride away from hotels in Hollywood is Grand Performances. The event presents FREE performing arts reflecting global culture to the diverse community of Los Angeles.

Grand Performances’ shows are located in California Plaza on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. Around 800 chairs are set up for Water Fountain Stage shows, and the Marina Pavilion seats about 300. Benches are also available on the upper level of Cal Plaza. Seating begins two hours prior to performance and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows, cushions or jackets as it can get chilly. Picnic food and alcohol is welcome on-site.

Grand Performances

There is an underground parking garage for California Plaza with an entrance at Olive St. between 1st and 4th streets. Parking is $7.50 after 5pm. Select shows have a bike valet. California Plaza is also a block and an Angel’s Flight away from the Pershing square station of Metro Red and Purple Lines.
