A popular event every year, this year’s Boo at the LA Zoo Halloween event is set to be bigger than ever. With special shows and entertainment for the whole family around this amazing zoo, the festivities will be a treat for all who enter. Held on the weekend of Saturday October 26th and Sunday October 27th between 10am and 4pm, the Halloween delights will be loved by everyone. If you will be staying at one of the hotels near LA Zoo, be sure to check out this fun event with the whole family.
Visitors to the zoo are welcomed in their best costumes and invited to ‘trick or treat’ around the park. At the front entrance plaza area, bags will be distributed to children and will be filled at the special treat stations scattered in various locations. Elsewhere, special Halloween activities and events are being held, from arts and crafts to performances with the animals everyone loves, all free to GLAZA members or included in the normal price of zoo entry.
In the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo area, Campfire Cathy will be giving performances where the children themselves become the stars as she tells her tales of spooky stories and little frights. There are three shows by Campfire Cathy every day, as well as a close encounter for those brave enough to meet the Creepy Creatures. In the Eucalyptus Grove, there will be pumpkin carving shows and demonstrations between 10:30am and 3pm, as well as a visit by a real live scarecrow, an amazing photo opportunity for families in the beautiful pumpkin patch area.
Up in the Treetops Terrace, monsters, princesses and storybook heroes will be coming to life, while in Chomp and Stomp the favorite animals in the zoo will be given pumpkin treats to nibble or devour in the spirit of the season. There are also a number of strolling entertainers all around the park, so there is certainly something to entertain everyone this Halloween.
