Art and music festivals are always fun and enjoyable and on Saturday, July 23rd the Downtown Arts District will be presenting BloomfestLA. BloomfestLa will be offering live indie music by some really great bands, delicious food, a rotating outdoor gallery of various street art and local artisan ware. The founder Joel Bloom always wanted to proudly showoff the Arts District and BloomfestLA has come along from its humble beginnings as small block party.
There are coffeehouses and restaurants to keep your stomach happy while you take in the art galleries. There will be over 20 booths with artisan crafts and community groups as well as beverages from Angel City Brewing, Wurstkuche and NOLA will introduce their New Orleans soul food. The music in the past is good and this year should be no exception. This year will have a daylong concert that will open up with Ozomatli’s Raul Pacheco’s The Little Bastards, followed by Hello Vegas, Bullet and Snowfox. There will also be the indie bands Chicano Batman, Eastern Conference Champions, Voxhaul Broadcast and Grouplove performing.
The festival will take place at 3rd street and Traction Avenue and is in the heart of the City of Los Angeles Clean Tech Corridor. This is a great way to promote the Downtown Arts District while enjoying some great food, beautiful artwork and some funky sounds and the best part is the festival is free.
